PCB making: Short procedure

     PCB making is an interesting art acquired by an electrical and electronics Engineer. In March 2012, Pratik and Sourabh (who has been admitted in D.BATU University, Lonere and Raigad) prepared two mini project circuits as their Workshop submission. Here, we will see how to make simple PCB circuit?
Insteead f wasting more time on praising their circuits, lets go the procedure:

1. To make simple PCB board, you should have a working circuit with you.

2. Place its components on Bred-board and check whether your circuit is working or not.
(If you are sure about your circuit that it is working then you can neglect this step but it is highly recommended to once check your circuit with the help of bred-board)

3. It is usual practice to use General PCB for mini projects. Go to market and buy a General PCB board. They are available in two different sizes. Small size costs for Rs. 10-15/- whereas medium size costs for Rs 50/-. Select best suitable size PCB with respect to your project size and no. of components involved in it.

4. Mark a path of your circuit on both sides of PCB using permanent marker. This will help you to prevent misplacing of components.
5. Place circuit components on their respected place and cut their legs by cutter. (Make sure that you have placed all the components with correct direction as their might occur a problem with anode and cathode sides of unidirectional devices like LED’s, Diodes, etc)
6. Now, its time to move on with Solder gun. We highly recommend to go for spot soldering. Use single stranded connecting wires for connection of any two points. Do not place Solder gun on components legs continuously for more than 3 seconds as it may cause damage to it.
7. After completing soldering process, try working of your circuit. It has been observed that there exists open circuit due to dry soldering. Troubleshoot it and go on trying till your circuit doesn’t work.
Some extra points;
I) If you wish to check functionality of any single device, it is worth that you remove its at least one leg from circuit.
I) While using IC, always use IC holder. It will increase flexibility of circuit.
