Oh..!! It happened... From last 4 months we were in Admission process and finally we have been allotted to various institutes. 4 months admission process was so boring... On 26th August, 2011, we got our degree colleges. In first round, All has been selected for Autonomous institutes. Here is brief list;
Serene Saptsagar - College of engineering, Pune (COEP)
As we rise up from school and college, a time comes when one has to choose either home or hostel for further studies. There are many young students, both girls and boys who are brought up in Hostels during their studies. Others are lucky who completed their education from home. What do you think? which one is better?.... Home or Hostel?
It really depends on the age and the surrounding conditions you are living in. Its not really advisable for children's under the age of 15 to stay away from home. You need to be well mannered as you are going to be a part of the tomorrow's society and being social is a critical factor for you to lead a smooth life.
Even if life at home cannot be compared to the life in a hostel, lets check out some reviews, suggestions, experiences shared by students from all over world over internet. We fetched best of suggestions from top rated question-answering sites like Yahoo, Indiaforum, indiastudychannel, etc.
Home Life:
1. It is safe.
2. We learn to manage relations
3. No fear of ragging, politics, etc.
4. Support and guidence by elders during depressed situaions.
5. Less chances to have bad habits like smoking, drinking, etc.
6. You don't really get to meet people in the world.
7. Usually kids that get home schooled are shy!
Hostel life:
1. Atmosphere of studies is great.
2. We learn how to manage money.
3. Learn to take decision by ourself. (Increases your self confidence)
4. Makes person matured.
5 Brings lot of responsibilities.
6. Teaches how to adjust.
7. We miss our parents and relatives.
8. No opposition and guidance by elders.
9. Students grown up in hostel become naughty.
10. Bad meal service.
If you think that Home life if good then you should go in deep on 6th and 7th point under Home life. If you are in favour of Hostel life then you should know that one can easily be spoiled in company with bad guys. (Fact is that these type of guys are everywhere in the society ,we cannot run away from them but can choose our friends wisely.)
Now, Its completely depend on you which type of life you enjoy.
Gas Insulated Transmission line (GIL)
is best choice where High rating power transmission is needed. It is nothing
but 2 Conductors, Gas mixture and supporters (Resistive support). Gas Insulated
Lines are environmental friendly and technically easy to implement. Its
operational features are also excellent.
Construction:
GIL consists of 2 concentric Aluminum tubes. The tubes are made of corrosion resistive aluminum alloy. Outer
conductor is to cover inner conductor and gas filled in it. Tubes are welded by computerized process
and tested by ultrasonic device to inspect and remove cracks and to ensure that
system is gas-tight. Outer tube is taken as ground potential. A particle trap is inserted in
the tubes to increase their life.
Cast resin
insulators are used to support inner conductor. These insulators also helps to
put inner Aluminum tube at center.
Mixture of gas is filled between
inner and outer tube. This increases insulating capacity of Transmission line.
Mixture of gas consists of 80% Nitrogen and 20% SF6 (sulphur hexafluoride)
which provides electrical insulation.
Length of GIL lies between 60km
to 100km. Because of the large cross section of the conductor, electrical losses
in GIL are less when compared with other transmission systems. So, transmission
and operating cost reduces.
Advantages:
Cooling system:
Due to large outer tube surface
GIL don’t require any sophisticated cooling system.
Reactive compensation:
Gil have low capacitance.
Dielectric losses are also less, so, reactive compensation is not needed.
High safety:
Due to presence of SF6, GIL are
capable of extinguishing any arc produced in it at the time of failure. GIL are
fire resistant. So safety to person and environment is ensured.
Highest reliability:
GIL is being used all over world
from last 35+ years without any case of failure.
Maintenance is less:
Electrical and thermal aging in
case of GIL is less hence very less maintenance is required. (Once in 50 years)
Low emission of magnetic fields:
The conductor current in the inner
aluminum tube induces a reverse current of the same size. Consequently the
electromagnetic field outside the GIL is negligible. No special shielding is
required even in areas which are critical with respect to EMC (e.g. airports or
computer centres or in populated areas).
Landscape view:
GIL can be used underground without
any special shielding. It can be replaced by high towers and landscape view of
surrounding can be maintained. It also reduces unwanted usage of land.
Arrangement:
GIL can be used horizontally,
vertically or in any inclined arrangement.
Applications:
GIL are commonly used for
transmission systems with 345-550 kV operative voltages and 2500-5000 Amp operation
current. Following are general sites of applications;
1. Feeder connections in power
plants
2. Transmission systems in tunnels
beneath cities
3. Transmission of EHV (Extra High
Voltage) is required within restricted places.
Some technical information:
Typical Technical voltage : 220-500
kV
Maximum operation voltage: 245-550
kV
Nominal frequency: 50 / 60 Hz (as
per system design)
Party was planned at our regular location (China Hut, Vishrambag). Treat was given by Suren (for joining Godrej) and Sourabh (B'day celebration). We missed Mahesh so much as he can't get leave for that night. He also working in Godrej. This time, two new friends joined us, Shreyas Kulkarni and Sachin Bhandare. Both enjoyed the night. Check out pics...

1. Instead of using hot water. Use warm (or cool) water.
2. Don't use washing machine only for 3-4 cloths. It is purely waste of electricity as well as water. Use it only when you have sufficient amount of cloths to wash.
1. Don’t set the thermostat of your refrigerator too high. changing the temperature even one degree can affect your electricity bill.
2. Don't place refrigerator in a sunny spot. Move it or cover the windows.
3. Decide what you need from the fridge before opening it so that you can save electricity and avoid standing with the door open while you search for food. Opening refrigerator once wastes 30% cold generated from it.
4. Don't put too hot things in refrigerator. Give it a little time to be normal.
1. Don't charge mobile whole the night. Make a habit of charging it regularly at particular time. e.g. While you go for morning walk, bathing, taking lunch or dinner, etc
2. Charge your laptop only when it shows 15% battery remained. Charge it fully. This will increase battery and charger life and you will be free from frequent charging.
1. Switch off lights, fans and other gadgets when not required.
2. Area in front of air conditioning vents should be free. Don’t put furniture and other stuff in front of it.
3. Put off the AC half (or switch it off) an hour before you leave the room.
4. Ensure that the room is packed before starting air conditioning. (Close doors and windows)
5. Using fluorescent light bulbs is always beneficial as they use 75% less energy than ordinary incandescent bulbs.
6. Clean the tubes and perform oiling of fans. This can save some power also it increases your appliances life and safety.
7. If height of roof is too high then increase length of connecting rod. Dot put it too down. Be sure that it will not harm anybody.
So, you see it is not difficult at all to get that electric power going that extra mile if only we make a habit of few simple rules in our everyday life.
"Teach others to save electric power from your example. Don’t do it for money. Do it for this lovely environment. For sparrows, birds and wildlife. For your loved one’s."
We human always search for information. Information may be related to latest news or gossip or a long time ago history. Internet is great source to fetch information from various locations situated all over the world. Today internet is easily available everywhere and people are using it for infinite purposes.
Dictionary is the thing which occasionally required by students. Todays fast life does not allow you to travel with heavy physical dictionary (printed dictionary). Online dictionary helps you by providing almost updated and accurate definitions and meanings. Here are our top 3 suggestions about using online dictionary;
Have you ever tried "Google Hidden Dictionary" for finding your queries?
You must tried "Google search" for finding meaning for your keyword search. We will tell you how to get actual dictionary meaning on your google results page. Just put syntax "define:" before your search query. for example, if you are searching for word 'Voltage', then type "define: voltage" (Without double inverted comma) in Google search box.
This one is amazing. you can switch between medical, legal or financial dictionary. Other features are encyclopedia, acronyms, idioms. This page is quite complicated due to ads shown. Once you become familiar with this page, then it is easy to find exact result in minimum time.
